Isabel Belle Mallory Wright

Isabel "Belle" Mallory Wright

Mrs. Belle Mallory Wright was a pioneer in the truest sense, taking an active part in the development of many community interests as long as she was able to get about.

She began her pioneer work in the public schools and the church, was a charter member and first worthy matron of the Eastern Star Lodge, president of the Woman's Club and a tireless worker in the Missionary society and Ladies' Aid of the Methodist Church. For more than 25 years she was superintendent of the Sunday school and was treasurer up to the time of her death. Hundreds of people have been touched by her Christian influence. Her many years of devoted service in whatever she undertook endeared her to all who knew her. She loved flowers, music, and good books but more than all, her friends whom she always greeted with a radiant smile.

Union United Methodist Church History notes that:

"On Sunday, December 3, 1905, the present church building on Main and Delta was dedicated, with Pastor Abraham Eads officiating,  Bell Wright planned the program".
